Understanding Assignment Amendments

An Amendment is utilized when the original contract information in a Assignment record needs to be adjusted (i.e., amended). In the system, an Amendment creates a new version of the record. More specifically, the old version of the Assignment is retained and a new version created having the original ID number but with a new version. This is indicated with a record header as an Amendment and with a drop-down menu allowing users to open different versions of the record.

When configured, users with the proper permission (see below) can use the Options menu to create an Assignment record Amendment to track changes to Assignment records.

NOTE: The Assignment Amendment functionality only works with Contract Versioning Option: Latest (in Application Settings). Like Contract Options, Assignment options must be Feature Access activated for users' Roles.
