Understanding Custom Objects

Custom Objects are used to provide additional at-a-glance information about an agreement, typically things that are itemized. For example, "Services" can be created as a Custom Object to provide a way to include your organization's services in an Assignments or Contract Record.

There are two methods for adding new custom object types records.

For example, if your custom object is named “Providers”.

Method 1: Add from Navigation Menu

Select in the navigation menu and then click .

When the record opens, fill out required fields and other details as desired.

Click .

Method 2: Add from Contract Record

Open the contract record to which you want to add the new Provider details and scroll to the Providers section. NOTE: If the desired Custom Object grid is NOT in the record, you'll have to add it to the layout of the record type. For more information, click the Adding Sub-Grids to a Layout link.

Click .

In the New Provider Record section fill out required fields and other fields as desired.
Click .

A new Provider record is created, and the provider is added to the contract record.
