NOTE: Requests are a feature available in accounts which have paid for them.
Users reviewing submitted requests have the option to convert the request to a contact.
Understanding Requests
As the name suggests, a Request is a user's wish to add a record. This is usually a request for a new Contract, but can also be an amendment or addendum to an existing Contract record or even a new Contact or Organization. When these requests are filled out, a Request record type is created. For example, a Contract Request record type, once reviewed and approved, can be turned into a Contract record later on.
Users with the appropriate permissions can review and approve a Request, converting it into a Record (either Contract, Contact, or Organization). For more information, click the Role Permissions link.
From the homepage, select the REQUESTS drop-down on the navigation menu. Click

. A Reject typically involves the Request being paused while the requestor is contacted to gather additional information. The Request can then be re-submitted for another review and/or Approval. A Decline terminates the Request record and cannot be re-submitted. For additional information, click the How to Reject a Request or How to Decline a Request links.
What happens:
The Request Status changes to “Converted” and the request record is closed.
A new Contact record opens. The new contact has a new unique ID. Information from the request is populated into fields on the contact. All documents uploaded with the request are added to the new contact record. NOTE: In order to save the new record, you many need to complete some required fields.
Once converted, if you open the Request record, the following message appears at the top: “This record has been submitted and converted to a contact record and cannot be edited.”
To make it easy to switch between viewing the Contact and viewing the Request, the following menu items appear in the menu bar of both Request and Contact after conversion:
View Contact
View Request
NOTE: Users having a Submitter subscription license can only see their own requests and are not allowed to view others requests.
