Custom Reports allow for greater control of the associations of data and utilization of the data points used in the report. Custom Reports have a unique Duplicate Report feature, which is excellent for building variations of the original Custom Report. When creating Custom Reports, follow the steps below:

  • Select below Tools on the navigation menu.

  • Click .

  • From the Object (Table) drop-down menu, select an Object type (e.g., Contacts, Contracts, Organizations, etc.).

  • Enter an Alias (An optional name for the object). This will become a prefix to all the columns in this custom report.

    • NOTE: If left blank, the name of the object will become a prefix to all the columns. If the same object is used more than once, a unique alias is required on each (e.g., Contacts (Company A), Contacts (Company B)).

  • Use the Parent drop-down menu to select the main data point.

    • NOTE: The first Parent object (data point) line Parent field will be blank (none) by default. You can change this, but must have one (only one object) that has NO Parent. This becomes the primary Parent object (data point) for this report. This column indicates the Parent object that the current object will be linked to. (e.g., if creating a report that displays Contract records whose Organizations have Documents: leave the Parent of the Contracts object blank, set the Parent of the Organizations object to Contracts and set the Parent of the Documents object to Organizations.)

  • Select the Record Required check boxes for each Object. If Record Required is checked, when the report runs, the Parent record must have at least one associated record of the selected object type in order for that Parent record to display in the report. If unchecked, the report will display ALL Parent records regardless if the Parent record has any of the selected object type. (e.g., if creating a report with Contracts and Contacts and the Contract object is the Parent and both are marked as required, ONLY Contract records that have one or more Contacts associated with them will display in the report). NOTE: The maximum number of search table rows in one report is 10. An example of a Custom Reports configuration is below.

  • Finally, click .

The newly created report will open and will appear in the list of Custom Reports.

NOTE: You can use to duplicate and modify the report without affecting the original.
