Users may type dates directly in the field or use the Date Picker. The system uses this format for dates: mm/dd/yyyy.

Using the Date Picker

  • Click the icon to open the calendar and click on a date to select it.

  • Today’s date may also be selected by clicking on the link at the bottom.

  • Click the arrows to move backward or forward one month at a time.

  • To display a different month in the current year, click once on the month and year displayed at the top and then choose a different month.

  • To display a month in a different year, click 2 times on the month and year displayed at the top, then choose the year followed by the month.

  • To display a month in a different decade, click 3 times on the month and year displayed at the top, choose the decade, then the year, then the month.

After entering a date in any of the four out-of-the-box date fields below, the system will display a message in the field label:

Execution Date (Executed for xx days)

Expiration Date (Expires in xx days) or (Expired)

Renewal Date (Renews in xx days)

Termination Date (Terminates in xx days) or (Terminated)

Contract Expiration

When a contract record reaches its expiration date, what happens depends on the Auto Update on Expiration toggle settings in the Application Settings>Application Options tab.

  • Auto Lock on Expiration: If ON then the contract record will be automatically locked. If OFF then the record is not locked.

  • Auto Update Status on Expiration: IF ON then the contract Status will be automatically updated to “Expired”. If OFF then the Status does not change.

The system checks the Expiration Date approximately every 5 minutes.

Contract Termination

Use the terminate function (Options>Termination in the menu bar) to terminate a contract. The system will automatically populate the Termination field with the date you type in the pop-up. On the designated termination date, the system will set the status to Terminated and lock the record.
