Custom Objects through AI DE

Another benefit of AI DE is gathering information in contract files on products, services, and other items for the purpose of adding this information as Custom Objects data in a Contract record. NOTE: Custom Objects must be configured in the system prior to importing them via AI DE.

To configure Custom Objects and AI DE, follow the steps below:

  • Starting from the Homepage, click Application Settings .

  • In Application Settings, click from the left-hand menu.

  • In Type Manager, select Contracts from the Object Types drop-down menu if not already selected.

  • Locate and click the name of the Contract Type containing the Custom Object. Scroll down to the Custom Object grid (e.g., Services, as seen in the example below). Next, locate and click the AI DE icon in the Custom Object grid.

  • In the Data Extraction Custom Object pop-up window, click the Enable Data Extraction toggle to ON.

  • Next, enter a prompt in the Description field. For example, "What are the Professional Services in this contract?", as seen below:

  • From the Extractable Services Fields row, click blue Add button. This opens another pop-up window with a drop-down menu to select from the available options of the Custom Object, as seen below:

  • Select an option from the drop-down menu (e.g., Service Name) and add another prompt in this Description field. Once the prompt is entered, selectSave Button blue. You can repeat this process for any additional fields used in the Custom Object. NOTE: The Rule(s) tab aids AI in locating Custom Object values from the entire document being analyzed, regardless of if the values are in a list format.

  • Once the fields are added, click the Display and/or Match checkboxes for each field row. Display allows you to select up to 5 extracted fields to display on the Data Extraction confirmation page. NOTE: This does not affect the extracted data. Match is used to prevent duplicate records, and you choose up to 2 fields to validate the extracted data.

  • When finished, select OK button blue and then select to save the Contract Type changes.
