The Unique Identifier field can be utilized for an organization to use an internal reference number (or value) across their organization to associate the Unique Identifier value with the Custom Object in Contract Logix. The field will display with a key icon in the Custom Object Edit page. Examples of Unique Identifiers can include a particular SKU number for a product or service, the ID number of a physician or specialist, or an invoice number from the organization's accounting or similar system.

Steps to add a Key Identifier field to a Custom Object:

  • Select from Application Settings.

  • Select Custom from the Objects Type drop-down menu.

  • Click the name of the Custom Object in which you want to have a Unique Identifier field.

  • Select .

  • Define the Field settings:

    • Enter a Label for the field in the Display name field.

    • Using the Control Type drop-down menu, choose Text Field OR Number Field. NOTE: Only Text or Number Fields allow for Key Identifier functionality.

    • Click the Unique Identifier toggle to ON. NOTE: The Required toggle will automatically also move to ON.

    • Continue to enter the necessary settings for the field and click . The Field Settings pop-up closes, and the new field appears in the Fields list on the right-hand side of this layout and all other layouts for that object type.

    • Drag the new field as the Unique Identifier into the layout.

  • Click .
