A Collaboration Room is a feature of the system where invited participants can review, comment on, redline and exchange messages with others about a document online. Using the Collaboration Room eliminates the need to send documents back and forth as email attachments during negotiations.

NOTE: Collaboration Rooms are a feature available only in accounts which have paid for them.

  • Document open in the Editor window

  • Click to display Collaboration toolbar

  • Toggle Comments panel on/off

  • Edit Options (See below)

  • Participants tab

  • Chat tab

  • Room History tab

  • Email and Options menu

NOTE: Collaboration Room participants who are Contract Logix users also see the left navigation menu and a link located above the Editor that can be used to go back to the Document Details record from the Collaboration Room.

Negotiation Mode for Owners offers different ways of editing a document. From the document viewer/editing screen, click the Edit Options button. A drop-down menu provides three choices:

  • Edit Main Document (Accept/Reject Redlines) - This editing mode is only available to Owners. It is asynchronous, so no one will see your edits or approvals/rejections until you click Submit Changes.

  • Work Offline (Download/Upload) - Using this feature, you can download a draft of the document to work on in the editing application of your choice. The document viewer/editing window will change to a drop zone for reuploading the document once you are done editing locally. NOTE: After reuploading the document, you must click the Submit Draft button to notify other participants, making your edits visible.

  • Edit Draft (Revise Document in Separate Draft) - Utilizing this feature, you can create a draft of the document that can only be seen by you while leaving the original Main file intact. Each participant (NOTE: This mode is not available to Reviewers) may create their own draft and edit it independently without altering any other participant's edits or the Main file. Once a draft is complete, you upload it and use Compare and Combine features to merge with the Main file.
