Many Contract Logix clients arrange their users into different departments and accompanying roles. This arrangement allows clients to provide or eliminate access to specific records within Contract Logix based on the departmental permissions. For departmental arrangements like these, clients use the Organizational Ownership field within each record to provide access for their users.

Oftentimes, however, clients will want a certain user or a group of users within a Role to have access to records outside of their designated department, and they'll find that these users see an error message when trying to search for records that their permissions do not allow.

The way around this is by using the Access All Org Ownership checkbox within the Roles. Selecting this checkbox next to each record type will allow users within that Role to access any records of that type. Below is an example where the Access All Org Ownership checkbox has been selected for a number of Contract record types.

NOTE: If your users are unable to view a specific record in Contract Logix, checking for any mismatches between the Organizational Ownership field in the record and the specific Role permissions is a great place to investigate.
